Six friends live together in a beautiful, dirt cheap, too-good-to-be-true apartment in New York City as they struggle through their early 30s and find themselves in a series of hilarious hijinks. Sound familiar?
Chloe, Mark, Fiona, Billy, Stephanie, and Connor spend their days playing card games, coming up with elaborate schemes to woo women, and fixing their hilarious miscommunications with cute one-liners and cheesy make-ups. But when Chloe meets Omar, a PhD student studying the role of minorities in modern media, she starts to question the superficial nature of her reality. As Chloe starts to grow beyond the ease and falseness of the sitcom world, her friends do as well. Only Mark, a paramedic used to being the hero and ringleader of the group, tries desperately to hold onto the life they used to know, whatever the cost. When the guest stars are staying longer than expected, the antics lose their importance, and the innocent jokes no longer seem so innocent, is it worth it to preserve the facade?
This show contains content involving violence, self-harm, sexual assault, animal abuse, homophobia, racism, depiction of seizures, and mentions of eating disorders.
