Description: Join us for an exhilarating whitewater rafting trip at Pennsylvania's largest park in the heart of The Laurel Highlands. As you and 4-5 other students travel down the river, you will learn the unique history of the park, observe the breathtaking scenery, and splash through exciting rapids. Before the experience begins, participants will have a brief introduction that will cover river safety, paddle strokes, and boat maneuvering. Novice and proficient rafters alike will then be guided by professionals as they experience the Lower Yough rapids. All equipment including rafts, paddles, helmets, and life jackets will be provided. No previous experience required.
What To Bring (suggestions): Dress for the weather, and for getting wet. Tied or strap-on shoes are required (no flip-flops or loose sandals are permitted; shoes must be fully secured). It's also suggested that you bring sunscreen, a towel, a change of clothes for the ride home (you will get wet) and any (allergy) medications that you may need. Water/snacks for the bus ride home. We recommend a head strap for those that wear glasses; electronics cannot be taken on the water but may be left on the bus at your own risk.
Weather Advisory: Only severe thunderstorms and/or lighting will warrant cancellation. In the event of a cancellation you will be notified via email about rescheduling.
