Description: Explore the largest cave and natural bat hibernaculum in Pennsylvania as you traverse through two miles of cave in its original state. During this underground exploration, you’ll get firsthand experience of what’s it’s like in a world of darkness. Exploring directors will provide an orientation for participants and guide you through the tour. Please dress accordingly, as the cave is a constant 52 degrees year-round.
What to Bring: Dress for 52 degree temperatures and for getting dirty; wear hiking boots, at a minimum closed-toed shoes; bring a change of clothes for the ride home so you don't have to sit in dirt for 1.5 hours; water/snacks for the bus ride home. CMU will provide you with two sources of light (i.e. flashlight and headlamp) but you may elect to bring your own.
Weather Advisory: Not applicable. We're going underground.
